Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Sequel A Possibility

It seems there’s a solid chance we could see a sequel to Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. In a recent interview with Xbox’s Major Nelson, voice actor Michael Biehn, the man behind Blood Dragon’s Rex Power Colt, told Nelson that from what he’s heard, the sales of Blood Dragon have exceeded Ubisoft’s expectations by five times.

So now Blood Dragon’s creative director Dean Evans has a meeting with studio executives to discuss the possibility of a sequel.

“Dean was with me on the phone last night, he called me last night,” Biehn said to Major Nelson. “He was pretty jacked up. He was going into a meeting today, to.. I think he wants to turn it into some sort of franchise. He’s got a sequel in mind.”

This would be some rad news if the off-the-wall, ‘80s tribute game gets a full-fledged sequel. Ubisoft has the design, aesthetic, and music in place for a Blood Dragon sequel, now they just need something more than what the first game offered from a gameplay standpoint. That’s not knocking the game, we liked it quite a bit as we voice on the latest episode of Watch Us Play, but there’s no denying the experience is a bit shallow; you do the same stuff over and over for only a handful of hours.

Hopefully we’ll be hearing a confirmation of more Blood Dragon being on the way soon. But with how these things go, it probably won’t be for a long while before we hear if Rex Power Colt will be back.
