Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Announced

Today, EA Games and BioWare announced Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, the third title in the popular Dragon Age franchise. The game is in development at BioWare Montreal and is slated for late 2013 release.

The press release forwarded to us from EA doesn’t reveal too much about the game, outside the title’s official name and that EA’s Frostbite 2 graphics engine will be powering the experience. That’s the same engine that blew everyone away with Battlefield 3, as well as a number of Need for Speed titles. Basically, it’s EA’s go-to graphical workhorse these days.

“The Dragon Age team has been working on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition for almost two years now,” said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal.  “We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans. They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”

We’ll be back with more on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition when we know it. Until that time comes, marvel at the game’s title graphic above.
