Liane Balaban Joins ‘Supernatural’ Season 8
In the closing moments of "Supernatural" season 7, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) was left to face the remaining Leviathans by himself when his brother, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and the angel, Castiel (Misha Collins) were thrust into Purgatory. But Sam won't be alone for long.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Liane Balaban has signed on for a recurring role in the upcoming eighth season of "Supernatural." Balbari will play Amelia, a young doctor who is described as a "damaged soul" after a tragedy in her past. But Amelia is also called "brave, sweet and sarcastic." Balbari's recurring status also suggests that Amelia will be hanging around for a while.
Balaban is a Canadian actress who has appeared in the films New Waterford Girl, Spliced, Saint Jude and Happy Here and Now in addition to her guest stints in "Alphas," "NCIS: LA," "Covert Affairs" and "Numb3rs."
"Supernatural" will return to the CW on Wednesday, October 03.
