Harold Perrineau Joins ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 5

Last season on “Sons of Anarchy,” Tig (Kim Coates) wrongly blamed Laroy Wayne (Tory Kittles) and the Niners for the attempted murder of Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman). So Tig made an ill-advised attempt to run down Laroy and ended up killing Laroy’s girlfriend.

When the fifth season of “Sons of Anarchy” kicks off later this year, Tig’s actions will blow back on SAMCRO in major way. The girl that Tig killed was the daughter of Damon Pope, one of the most dangerous gangsters in Oakland.

According to TVLine, Harold Perrineau has signed on to portray Pope in the coming season of “Sons of Anarchy.” Perrineau is perhaps best known for playing Michael Dawson in “Lost,” Augustus Hill in “OZ” and Link in The Matrix film series.

Perrineau also costarred on the ABC series, “The Unusuals” in addition to his memorable turns in Romeo + Juliet, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days and 28 Weeks Later.

TV veteran Jimmy Smits was also recently cast as Neron “Nero” Padilla, a Latino gangbanger who will serve as a dangerous mentor for Jax Teller ( Charlie Hunnam) during a major arc throughout the season.

“Sons of Anarchy” will return to FX this fall.
