‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’ Teaser Trailer

UPDATE: MARCH 21, 4:35PM

Syfy has officially announced that “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome” will not go forward as a TV series, but the web series may still happen. If you still want to see the show on television, contact the network and make your voices heard!

The Syfy series “Caprica” was the first attempt to spinoff a series from the reimagined “Battlestar Galactica;” and to put it charitably, it wasn’t the breakout success that the network or the producers had hoped for. One of the primary complaints against “Caprica” was that it lacked the space battles and fast pace of the best “Galactica” stories.

That doesn’t appear to be a problem for “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.”

Originally conceived as a ten part web series, “Blood & Chrome” was bumped up to a TV movie that may possibly serve as a pilot episode for a brand new “Battlestar Galactica” prequel series set during the height of the first Cylon War. “Skins” actor Luke Pasqualino portrays a young William Adama back when he was a Viper pilot with the callsign Husker.

Ben Cotton (“Stargate Atlantis”) costars as Coker Fasjovik, Adama’s commanding officer. The two of them don’t exactly see eye-to-eye when they are assigned to work with Dr. Becca Kelly ( Lili Bordán) on a secret mission that may turn the tide of the war back in humanity’s favor.

Syfy Someone quietly debuted the trailer for “Blood & Chrome” at last weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim; which has now found its way online. As you can see below, the trailer features stylish sci-fi action cut to Trent Reznor and Karen O’s cover of “Immigrant Song” from “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” And if this doesn’t get you excited about “Blood & Chrome” then nothing will.

UPDATE: At the request of NBCUniversal, this video trailer has been removed.

There is still no word on when Syfy will release “Blood & Chrome” or if it will be the first space based TV series on the network since the cancellation of “Stargate Universe.” But judging from the early response to this trailer, the fans clearly want more of what they saw here.
