‘Hell on Wheels’ Cast Interviews

On Sunday, November 06, AMC will add another original drama to its lineup with “Hell on Wheels,” a period piece set just after the Civil War during the late 1860s. Anson Mount stars as Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier looking to avenge the death of his wife by traveling to Nebraska’s “Hell on Wheels;” which is the nickname for the chaotic and dangerous town that moves west alongside the construction of the transcontinental railroad.

Bohannon’s quest for vengeance isn’t as straight forward as he would like and he is forced to stay in the town even as the Cheyenne tribe prepares for war against the railroad company to prevent it from encroaching upon their lands.

At last week’s Los Angeles premiere for “Hell on Wheels,” we caught up with several cast members; including Anson Mount, Common, Dominique McElligott, Colm Meaney, Robin McLeavy, Christopher Heyerdahl, Kasha Kropinski, Eddie Spears and Tom Noonen, as well as executive producer Jeremy Gold for their take on the new series, the background of their characters and the historical context for the series.

Some of the cast even share their favorite Westerns with us, with a few surprising picks along the way…
