‘Anchorman 3’ Could Be Set In Iraqi War Zone

As incredible as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is, the sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, was a travesty, and one of the worse films of 2013. It was actually painful to watch. But even with that said, writer and director Adam McKay has a pretty great idea for another Anchorman sequel if it ever happens.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, McKay says he wants to send Ron Burgundy and his pals into the middle of the Iraq war. Here’s what McKay had to say:

“I don’t know if you remember the first and even the second Iraq war. Maybe it was mainly the second Iraq war. They embedded journalists and that gave us kind of a whole story idea.I don’t want to say too much, but I’ll just tell you that embedded journalist, Ron Burgundy, Veronica Corningstone, the news team. That definitely gave us a big idea.”

If not the Iraqi war, since the film takes place in the ’70s, perhaps dropping Burgundy into the Vietnam War can also be an option. Nevertheless, all of this is just a thought as it took almost ten years for an Anchorman sequel to be released and we all know how that turned out. Maybe it’s best to just call it quits on the character.

What do you think? Should McKay and company release another Anchorman to make up for the last train wreck? Or are you done with this character?
