15,000 Scientists Sign Letter That Says Mankind Is Completely Screwed

Way back in 1992, hundreds of scientists signed their name to a letter, a letter that stated that our current behavior on the planet was leading us all to disaster. “Human activities inflict harsh and often irreversible damage on the environment and on critical resources,” the letter, titled “World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity,” stated. “If not checked, many of our current practices put at serious risk the future that we wish for human society and the plant and animal kingdoms, and may so alter the living world that it will be unable to sustain life in the manner that we know.”

Well guess what? More than 15,000 new scientists from 184 countries have added their name to the letter in an updated version. All these scientists agree that our growing global population will soon be too much for our planet and we will run out of natural resources.

“We are jeopardizing our future by not reining in our intense but geographically and demographically uneven material consumption and by not perceiving continued rapid population growth as a primary driver behind many ecological and even societal threats,” ecologist Professor William Ripple says.

In other words we need to fix our ways or we are all completely f**ked. But since the majority of us our idiots and don’t care, chances are our grandkids are also screwed.

According to their data (which was obtained from a range of sources so as to not have biased information), nearly 300 million acres of forest have been cleared, and ocean dead zones, where pollution is so severe that virtually nothing can survive, have increased by 75 percent.

There’s also less fresh water available, and the human population has risen while the population for everything else has declined.

In conclusion, let’s all try to treat this planet better or we will destroy it soon…very soon…
