Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes, they wear dresses.

If you work in an office, then you know there are only two settings on the building’s thermostat: 1) freezing cold/Antarctic, and 2) burning hot/welcome to Hell. It never seems like there’s an in-between.

With summer just kicking off, heat waves are starting all over the place. Unfortunately, some office workers are waiting for setting No. 1 to activate while sweating in their formal business attire.

One guy wasn’t about to let the high temperatures bake him like a pizza in his cubicle, so he wore some shorts to the office. After getting sent home for improper attire, he clapped back in a very effective way.

Guy Sent Home For Wearing Shorts To Work Returns In Dress

Joe Barge is a guy who works in a call center with a strict dress code. With it being so hot outside, he didn’t feel like dressing in what would inevitably become sweaty slacks, so he boldly put on some shorts to cool down. “If women can wear skirts/dresses at work,” he tweeted, “can I wear smart shorts like so?”

It didn’t take long before he got his answer.

A short while later, Joe and his shorts got sent home for improper office attire and his dream of being comfortable in his hot office was shot down — for the time being.

Joe wasn’t quite done with his efforts to dress himself comfortably, though. So what did he do? He quite literally DRESSED himself.

Joe threw on a wonderful pink and black dress and — in a move even bolder than wearing shorts — wore the outfit to the office. Work it, bro.

The move ended up inspiring change. As a result of Joe wearing the dress to his place of work, the company announced a new dress code policy that allows for guys to wear shorts when temperatures are too much for you, me, Joe and everyone else who thinks corporate dress codes are bullshit.

Bravo, man. Way to fight for the rights of dudes everywhere who don’t want to wear uncomfortable slacks that do nothing but make for sweaty balls on hot days.
