So A Bunch Of Heroin Was Found Inside A Greeting Card

Happy Mother’s Day, mom. I hope you enjoy the heroin I sent you.

Sometimes authorities find cocaine in a bride-to-be’s suitcase, and sometimes they discover a teacher with a bunch of cocaine and heroin. And sometimes, believe it or not, $500 worth of heroin is found inside a greeting card. Customs officers in Philadelphia discovered the heroin inside an air-sealed and laminated greeting card.

When U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers examined the air parcel, which came from the Netherlands, they noticed that the parcel not only contained important documents, but also contained the drug.

And it gets more bizarre: the card had an image of four-leaf clovers and the word “success” repeated three times on it. Well, not exactly a success.

The 8 grams of powder found inside of the greeting card obviously tested positive for heroin.

“This heroin interception is another example of how Customs and Border Protection officers exercise vigilance to deftly uncover creative narcotics concealment methods,” Kevin Donohue, acting CBP port director for the Area Port of Philadelphia said. “CBP officers’ border enforcement mission and inspections expertise helps to keep our communities safe.

But now someone didn’t get their greeting card. That’s a bummer. Oh, and no arrests have been made yet.
