Rick and Morty’s Virtual Reality Game Lets You Play With Your Plumbus

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality has been released today, with the virtual reality game allowing players to experience the animated show first-hand.

Virtual Rick-ality places players in the shoes of a cloned version of Morty, the young and routinely ridiculed grandson of the misanthropic genius Rick, as he sets about exploring the surreal world featured in the Adult Swim show and interacting with characters from across its first two seasons. There’s even a Mr. Meeseeks (just don’t ask him to improve your golfing skills), and yes, you can fiddle around with a Plumbus… though you probably still won’t get to find out what one actually does.

Virtual Rick-ality has been developed by Owlchemy Labs, best known for their other comedy VR game Job Simulator. The jokes have been penned by the team behind the Adult Swim series, with Owlchemy having teamed up with the show’s production staff to make it as true to the source material as possible. It also features the full voice cast from the show including Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer and Sarah Chalke.

Unfortunately, Virtual Rick-ality is only available on PC VR headsets the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, with no PlayStation VR version having been announced. Considering that Job Simulator was one of the better PS VR titles this is not exactly welcome news for owners of the PS4 VR headset, but hopefully Owlchemy will bring it to the console sooner or later.
