Kit Harington Teases ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7

The final two seasons of Game of Thrones will have fewer episodes than fans are used to. While the early plans call for only six episodes in 2018 for the eighth and final season, the upcoming seventh season will feature seven episodes. But according to series star Kit Harington, the reduced episode count doesn’t mean that the show is holding back. If anything, it may be bigger than ever!

“They spent an increasing amount of money on less episodes, so it’s gonna be much bigger in scale, the CGI,” said Harington while speaking to The Huffington Post. “We’re trying new things, experimenting with new camera techniques. I think we’re trying to break boundaries and push past boundaries in these final two seasons.”

“I think every actor did more action, had more action, had more scenes,” added Harington. “They really focused it [on the main cast] because less [new] characters are coming in; they’re focusing in on the existing ones.”

While Harington didn’t reveal any major spoilers for the new season, he did seem to indicate that rumors of popular characters finally crossing paths will become a reality. “There are lots of people who cross paths,” said Harington. “And that’s something I think the audience has been waiting for for a long time.”

As revealed yesterday in the ridiculous melting block of ice announcement, the seventh season of Game of Thrones will premiere on Sunday, July 16 on HBO.
