Has Conor McGregor Been Cast In ‘Game of Thrones’?

Conor McGregor has a lot of experience in UFC’s octagon, but he doesn’t have many acting roles under his belt yet. But that may soon change with a part on HBO’s wildly popular fantasy series, Game of Thrones.

Via TVLine, UFC President Dana White appears to have revealed McGregor’s acting gig during an appearance on Fox Sports Live. “I knew a few months ago they were interested in putting him in the show,” said White. “I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great.” It’s unclear if White meant to say that White has already filmed his role, or if it will be something that shoots at a later date. HBO declined to respond to TVLine’s inquiry about the report, but it’s been picked up by several additional outlets, some of which are offering possible details about McGregor’s role.

There are potential minor spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones. You’ve been warned!

Watchers on the Wall is reporting that McGregor will appear on the series as a crew member of the Silence, one of the ships under the command of Euron Greyjoy. The ship was named “The Silence” because Euron cut out the tongue of everyone on it, which implies that UFC’s most famous trash talker probably won’t have any lines. That seems like a waste of his natural talents!

There is also a rumor that McGregor’s character will fight Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, probably because of this video that McGregor filmed last year with The Mountain himself, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.
