Simon Barrett has written some of the most acclaimed horror movies in years, including You’re Next and The Guest (which we recently called one of the best films of the decade so far). Now, he’s writing the long-awaited sequel to The Blair Witch Project, which just played at the Toronto International Film Festival, and even better… he’s doing The B-Movies Podcast!
This week, Simon Barrett sits down with Crave film critic William Bibbiani for an in-depth discussion about all things Blair Witch, including the sad saga of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, the awfulness of Da Hip Hop Witch, the strange young adult novel spin-offs, which Blair Witch tie-ins are still “canon,” how they kept the new Blair Witch a secret until just two months ago, and his plans for You’re Next 2 and The Guest 2 (which, sadly, may never come to pass).
