Ocean’s Eleven All-Female Reboot To Star Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling & Sandra Bullock

Warner Bros. have been teasing a third reboot of Ocean’s Eleven for the best part of a year now, with this latest film to follow the lead of Ghostbusters and feature an all-female lead cast.

The first edition of the film came out in 1960, and featured a number of actors who were better known as musicians, including Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.

Then there was the hugely popular 2001 version – which featured an all-star cast including George Clooney as primary protagonist Danny Ocean, alongside Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Bernie Mac and a host of others.

Now it’s been confirmed that writer and director of the Hunger Games Gary Ross will head the project. Sandra Bullock was tagged to be part of the project earlier this year, and now it’s been reported that Aussie Cate Blanchett will join the case alongside Mindy Kaling and British actress Helena Bonham Carter.

The film has loosely been titled Ocean’s Ocho, and is rumored to be a spin-off continuation of the plot of the Clooney trilogy, with Bullock set to play the former convict sister of Danny Ocean. Clooney and Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh.
