‘Twin Peaks’ Recruits Reznor, Vedder & More For Star-Studded Cast

Showtime has announced that they’re reviving David Lynch’s beloved cult-smash TV series Twin Peaks, with Lynch directing every episode to the delight of fans worldwide. However, a star-studded cast announcement is bringing a significant markup in enthusiasm, even for newcomers to the franchise.

New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff tweeted Showtime’s expansive cast list for the new series, with a number of curveballs which veer into musical territory. A delightfully varied collection of film stars including Tim Roth, Amanda Seyfried, Jim Belushi, Ashley Judd, Michael Cera, Laura Dern, Monica Bellucci, Matthew Lillard, Balthazar Getty, Naomi Watts and others have joined the cast. Original show stars Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, Ray Wise and David Duchovny are returning as well.

Additionally, the show will feature previous Lynch collaborator Trent Reznor, along with his wife Mariqueen and fellow Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, as well as Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. Sky Ferreira will also appear, as will Sharon Van Etten. Julee Cruise, whose songs fans will recognize from the original Twin Peaks, is coming back as well. Twin Peaks will be back with some damn fine cups of coffee and a whole lotta weirdness in 2017.
