Fans Spot London Tube Station in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ Trailer

Though Star Wars is ostensibly set in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars: Rogue One was seemingly filmed somewhere very close to home for Londoners, with Eagle-eyed viewers spotting what looks a lot like the English capital’s Canary Wharf tube station in the upcoming film’s first trailer.

Star Wars fans made the observation on Twitter, before a side-by-side comparison was posted to Imgur that all but verified that, yes, our heroine is running down the underground station as though she is late for her admin job.

Check it out below:

You can watch the scene in the Star Wars: Rogue One trailer, around the 1:10 mark:

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not filming took place in the Jubilee line tube station, but the majority of The Force Awakens was filmed in London’s Pinewood Studios, with some shooting also took place in nearby locations around the city. It’s therefore not out of the realm of possibility that these Star Wars fans are right, and we will see Canary Wharf (albeit one with Stormtroopers and Rebel fighters) pop up at some point in Rogue One.
