Ultra Exclusive | Interview: Sultan + Shepard Talk New Music, True Fans

Crave caught up with Grammy nominated L.A. spinners Sultan + Shepard at The Music Lounge, the annual 3-day dance-party throwdown featuring live sets and interviews with the world’s biggest DJs, producers and more.

Revered by many as the kings of progressive house, the producer duo and heads of Harem Records sat down with Crave mic man Shane O’Neil to discuss the party scene, their upcoming new single and the avalanche of new material in store for the rest of 2016. The scenemakers cover what they love most about Miami, catching up with their DJ friends and the true fans who make the trek out for the beautiful weather and musical exhilaration at the biggest dance party of the year.

Crossing influences of rock and hip-hop at the onset, the two originally found common ground over EDM, bonding over Chemical Brothers, Moby, Underworld and beyond. Despite stressing quality over quantity, Sultan + Shepard’s new deal with Armada inspired a wildly productive winter grind, which has resulted in six months’ worth of music. Look for the new material to flow in the second half of the year.
