Patrick Warburton Is Lemony Snicket In Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

Patrick Warburton may not be reprising his role as The Tick in Amazon’s upcoming pilot, but he is Lemony Snicket! Or rather, he’ll be playing Lemony Snicket on Netflix’s new A Series of Unfortunate Events series.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story, which makes Warburton the second high profile cast member to join the new adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Neil Patrick Harris recently closed his deal to portray the villainous Count Olaf in the series.

Lemony Snicket is the pen name of Daniel Handler, who wrote the original novel series and is executive producing the new adaptation. Lemony Snicket is also a character within the novels, who was previously portrayed on the big screen by Jude Law (via voiceover). For the series, Lemony Snicket is said to be “the harried and troubled writer-photographer who is falsely accused of felonies and is continuously hunted by police and his enemies — including the fire-starting side of secret organization Volunteer Fire Department (VFD).”
