Showtime Picks Up Billions For A Second Season

Right after delivering the biggest premiere week ever for the network, Showtime has picked up its new critically-acclaimed drama Billions for a second season, a show that had the best series debut performance ever for a Showtime original series with 6.5 million viewers, besting the series premiere of Ray Donovan by 7 percent (with 6.1 million viewers in June 2013).

The series examines how wealth, influence, and corruption affect two highly ambitious but opposing figures: hard-charging, blue-blooded, politically connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (played by Oscar nominee and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti) and brilliant, calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis).

The ensemble cast of Billions includes Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile and Condola Rashad.

Billions airs Sundays at 10pm.
