Brace yourself Monty Python fans, because John Cleese and Eric Idle are coming to fart in your general direction.
The British comedy veterans – who compose the champion third of the iconic Flying Circus – have announced an Australian comedy tour for 2016.
Dubbed in Pythonesque fashion John Cleese & Eric Idle: Together Again At Last…For The Very First Time, the funnymen will take their show to all major Aussie cities, with 7 stops booked across February and March of 2016.
“Eric and I had huge fun touring the States in October and now we can bring our show to the friendliest people in the world,” Cleese said on the subject of the tour announcement, which he reckons is guaranteed to “annoy the politically correct”.
Idle added: “Having enjoyed the World Tour of Florida, we were looking for somewhere else large aquatic reptiles of the sub family Crocodylinae also thrived. The Nile was booked, so we are coming to Australia. Having once married a Sheila and as the father of a half-Australian son I look forward to touring one of my all-time favourite places.”
So do we, Eric, so do we.
And now for something completely different. Cleese and Idle will blend scripted and improvised bits with storytelling, musical numbers, exclusive footage, “aquatic juggling” and an extended audience Q&A at each show, with no two performances to be the same.
