Survivor Australia Is Actually Happening And You Could Be In It

Literally over 50 countries in this world have had their own version of Survivor and while Australia has been starved of starving contestants for nearly a decade, Network Ten has answered everyone’s prayers and will bring the show back.

The last Australian incarnation of Survivor was a celebrity version in 2006 but that’s not the way it’s going to work this time. They’re giving one hundred per cent real, ordinary, hard-working, true blue Aussies the chance to audition and appear on the show without any prerequisite of being a celebrity.

There’s no location yet but if you can’t sing, dateget paid to watch TV or you missed the chance to be holed up in a house in Dreamworld for three months, this is for you.

Network Ten is asking for regular Australians to apply for their chance to compete in the show in a yet-to-be-announced location. Ten have asked people to apply “here”, but they’re yet to get it together and actually send the link live so just continuously refresh this page all day today.

“We have wanted to create Australian Survivor for many years, so we are delighted and honoured to be able to bring this amazing show to viewers.,” said Ten’s Chief Programming Officer, Beverley McGarvey.

The creator of the original series Charlie Parsons is also really excited. “I can’t wait to see it,” he said.

Let this be a warning to you, however. A local version of Survivor was aired in 2002 but didn’t get past the first season due to low ratings. So, if you want to keep this alive you’ve got to pick up the remote and dedicate your life to Survivor. Don’t screw it up this time Australia.

The show will air in 2016.
