The Stone Roses have officially confirmed that they’ll be playing both stadium and festival gigs in 2016, after posters featuring the band’s iconic lemon logo were put up throughout their hometown of Manchester yesterday.

The Stone Roses confirmed that they’ll play two stadium shows at the Manchester Etihad Stadium on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June, while they will also be a headliner at T in the Park festival in Strathallan Castle Scotland on Friday 8th July.

There have been rumours that the band will also make an appearance as a headliner at next year’s Glastonbury festival, though the event’s organisers are notoriously reluctant to share details of scheduled performers ahead of the tickets going on sale.

Tickets for both the Manchester gigs and T in the Park festival will go on sale on November 6th at 9.30am, though no pre-sales will be available. This will mark the first time the band will have performed together since their comeback gigs throughout 2012 and 2013, and while the band signed a new record deal in 2011, they have yet to release any new music. Some are therefore speculating the these stadium shows and festival headline performance could have been organised to coincide with new material that the band may put out next year.

The lemon logos appeared across Manchester yesterday morning, with The Sun’s Gordon Smart uploading photos of them on his Twitter account
