Hear Hugh Jackman Sing Nirvana & Ramones Classics For New ‘Peter Pan’ Movie

The latest Peter Pan feature film, Pan, is soon to release its 21-song soundtrack, which includes the moments when the character Blackbeard (Aussie actor Hugh Jackman) and a choir of children join forces to belt out the Nirvana classic “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and The Ramones‘ “Blitzkrieg Bop”.

The cast of Pan‘s version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (below) is slow and dramatic, and is topped by Jackman’s dark vocals. The cast’s take on “Blitzkrieg Bop” has a similar army-of-kids feel, with some film-ready strings to back it up.

The Pan soundtrack also includes two new Lily Allen songs, “Something’s Not Right” and “Little Soldier”, which were both co-written by Keane frontman Time Rice-Oxley. Catch the film’s renditions of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Blitzkrieg Bop” alongside Allen’s tracks, below.

Jackman’s Blackbeard character in Pan is the man who controls Neverland and is destined to be overthrown by Peter. The film is in cinemas now, with its official soundtrack to be released in Australia on 9th October.

Hugh Jackman’s Broadway To Oz arena concert tour will make its way around Australia this November and December.
