Ryan Adams Will Be First Musical Guest on The New ‘Daily Show’

Just as pop culture hits a fever pitch for Ryan Adamsfull-album cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 – sending the collection to #2 on the iTunes chart – news has broken that Adams will serve as the first-ever musical guest on Trevor Noah’s premiere week as Jon Stewart’s replacement on “The Daily Show”. Ryan will be the sole guest on the October 1 broadcast, as announced today by Comedy Central.

Noah’s run as “Daily Show” host will officially kick off next Monday with Kevin Hart as guest. On Tuesday, Noah will host Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe, with the South African comic welcoming GOP Presidential candidate and current New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Adams will appear Friday.

Adams is enjoying the most mainstream exposure of his entire career this week with the melancholy masterpiece of his full-album cover of Swift’s smash album – an irony-free, shoegazer-Springsteen spin on the pop collection that’s captivated international attention. Listen to the full album.

“The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” debuts on Monday at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central. A day later, it will be available to stream on thedailyshow.com and the Comedy Central App.
