Triple J’s Matt Okine Cops It After “Accidentally” Liking Justine Schofield Bikini Pic

Accidentally liking someone’s Instagram photo isn’t anything new – it’s a common ailment caused by lazy scrolling technique – but triple j Breakfast host Matt Okine has paid the ultimate price for an awkward Instagram faux pas he’s now admitted to on air.

As triple j reports, this morning saw Okine admit to his rookie error, which involved accidentally liking a photo which was posted by chef and former “Masterchef” contestant Justine Schofield, which she uploaded ONLY 37 WEEKS AGO. The photo (below) features Schofield on a beach in a bikini, so Okine has being copping it online.

Hundreds of comments have been posted to social media after Okine admitted to liking the above photo. Here are a selection:

Speaking on triple j this morning, Okine apologised to Schofield for his “shocker” of an accident, and explained that he was trying to tag his girlfriend in a photo when he inadvertently creeped too hard on Schofield’s happy snap.

Thankfully, Schofield has called Okine and his co-host Alex Dyson to share her side of the story. She reassured Okine that he doesn’t need to worry about the faux pas, and even said she is now following him on Instagram and has purposefully liked a really old photo of his to make it even. Listen to the full segment, below.

Ironically, Okine co-hosts the ABC program “How Not To Behave”, which only last night covered the topic of social media etiquette. So, internet, remember this: If you’re lurking, do it cautiously.
