I’ve never been a massive fan of limited edition game consoles. They’ve always looked too tacky in comparison with their regular editions and, considering I’m one of the suckers who buys most consoles at launch, the window of opportunity has typically already passed for me when they’re released to coincide with a new major title. However, Sony has been pretty on-point when it has come to limited edition PS4s, and the console they’ve unveiled to mark the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may be the most gorgeous redesign of the console yet.
The console was first set to release in Asia, though today it has been announced that it will be coming to the UK, too, with it being available exclusively at GAME stores. The console will be released on September 1st, retailing at £364.99. You can get it right here.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to release worldwide on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 1st, and on September 15th on PC. After a heavily publicised dispute with publishers Konami, it could mark the very last time that the series’ creator Hideo Kojima is behind a Metal Gear game.

Fortunately it’s shaping up great, with us featuring it as our favorite game showcased at this year’s E3. Fans of the series will no doubt lap up the limited edition console, then, and hopefully it will also make its way to the rest of Europe and the US, though Konami hasn’t yet confirmed whether or not this will be the case.
