Dave Grohl: “Kanye West’s Glastonbury Performance Could Be The Greatest Show of All Time”

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has spoken out about the controversy surrounding Kanye West’s upcoming Glastonbury headline slot, saying that the backlash could inspire the Yeezus rapper to put on “the greatest show of all time”.

When Kanye was announced as a headliner of the festival, a Change.org petition began circulating to convince Glasto organiser Michael Eavis to pull his performance from the three-day event. Of course, nothing of the sort happened, because Change.org is largely used by self-entitled brats who believe that if they bark loud enough someone will listen to their nonsense, but Grohl believes that its existence will stand to fuel a career-defining performance from ‘Ye.

“I don’t know that much about Kanye’s music but right now Kanye vs Glastonbury is about as close to that old school [Public Enemy] vibe as you’re going to get,” he told NME Magazine.

“I don’t know who the dude is that started the petition but I think every one of those votes is only fuelling Kanye’s fucking fire and it could be the greatest show of all time.”

Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform a headline slot at the festival, but were forced to pull out after Grohl sustained a leg injury during a performance in Sweden. The band were promptly replaced by new headliners Florence And The Machine, with Kanye set to headline on the Saturday and The Who headlining on Sunday.
