Hacker is Allegedly Trying to Sell Taylor Swift Nude Photos

Taylor Swift was hacked earlier this week, with her Twitter and Instagram accounts being hijacked for a handful of minutes, during which time the hacker instructed her fans to follow members of hacking group Lizard Squad. Now a man who claims to have perpetrated the hack has claimed is attempting to sell a number of private DMs and nude images of the pop star to TMZ.

The hacker, who goes by the name ‘Veri’ (not his real name, unless he’s incredibly stupid), has said in an interview with Gawker that he managed to hack into Swift’s social media accounts after he downloaded a backup of her iPhone he obtained after breaking into her AOL email account. Nice PR headache for AOL there, then.

However, Veri hasn’t verified his claims, and the fact that he’s trying to reach out to TMZ – a site that has previously stated it would never publish nude photos obtained from a hack – seems a little suspicious, as does his statement that he has “about 6” nude images of the star. If you made all that effort to obtain nude photos of a celebrity, I’m pretty certain that you’d be able to give more than an approximate.

A series of tweets sent by Taylor Swift following the hacking.

After the claims were made that nude photos of the singer had been obtained, Swift tweeted: “PS any hackers saying they have ‘nudes’? Psssh you’d love that wouldn’t you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING.” At this point, it certainly seems that way.

According to Veri, if he can’t find an outlet that will buy the images from him then he’ll either keep them or delete them. Yes, because hackers have been notoriously tight-fisted when it comes to dishing out nudes on the internet. We’re sure Jennifer Lawrence et al would have appreciated that kind of money-grubbing when their private photos/videos were leaked back in the 2014 shit-storm dubbed ‘The Fappening.’

However, one piece of information that does back up Veri’s claims is that he was able to reveal a selection of (thoroughly innocuous) DMs sent from Swift to the likes of Lena Dunham, one of the Jonas brothers (who cares which one?) and, weirdly, YouTuber PewDiePie. If Veri was telling the truth, though, you’d have to believe those privates images would already be circulating the ‘net.
