ZombiU 2 Outed on Amazon, But What Console Would it Release On?

Amazon France has listed ZombiU 2 on its online store, setting a release date of October 17th, 2015 for the unannounced games.

The original ZombiU released to middling consumer reaction, though many critics (including myself) loved its unique use of the GamePad and truly unsettling gameplay, which hearkened back to the days of old-school survival-horror titles such as the original Resident Evil games.

Now it seems that a sequel to the Wii U exclusive could be in the works, despite developer Ubisoft having previously said that a follow-up to the game would be unlikely. The listing on Amazon France, which you can see below, lists the game as being produced by Namco Bandai Games. Considering this is an Ubisoft IP, it’s uncertain whether or not this was a mistake on Amazon’s behalf, though Ubisoft’s disinterest in creating a new ZombiU game may have led them to sell the rights to the series.

If Ubisoft are still in control of the series, then it’s unlikely that it will be following in the footsteps of its predecessor and releasing exclusively on Nintendo’s home console. After poor sales of the first game Ubisoft had expressed a lack of interest in working with Nintendo in the same capacity ever again, and it should also be noted that Watch_Dogs, another Ubisoft intellectual property shifted an horrendously low amount of units in its recent release on the Wii U, with it being reported that it even debuted in the charts below FIFA 13, a two-year-old game, in the UK.

I’d still love to see a ZombiU 2, though if it is to be handled by a different development team then consider me skeptical. If the game is indeed on its way, then we can expect an official announcement sooner rather than later.
