GTA V Gets a Rockin’ New PS4 and Xbox One Launch Trailer

In the past there’s been a lot of downtime between Grand Theft Auto releases, but not this time around. Thanks to the almighty power of the PS4 and Xbox One, Rockstar North decided to put aside a large portion of its team to renovate last year’s Grand Theft Auto V for the new and improved consoles. Looking at its latest trailer, it wasn’t such a bad idea.

After a year of teasing, announcements, and secrecy, GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One is ready to land on store shelves. These versions have substantial upgrades, including increased draw distance (my number one request), denser traffic, improved weather effects, as well as a support of 1080p resolution.

Truth is, the PS3 and Xbox 360 struggled to run GTA V. You may remember the pop-in of textures all around you as you drove through Los Santos and other areas of the game world. Rockstar wanted to go big, but was held back by hardware. Thankfully it released right at the tail end of a generation, so within months that hardware restriction was no longer a problem.

A launch trailer has debuted for the new PS4 and Xbox One version of GTA V, and it shows a stark contrast between the game of old and the new. You can watch it above.

Grand Theft Auto V will release on PS4 and Xbox One on November 18th.
