Lily Allen References Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga in New Song ‘Sheezus’

Lily Allen has name-checked Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lorde in her new song ‘Sheezus’, the latest single to be taken from the upcoming album of the same name.

The track features the chorus “RiRi isn’t scared of Katy Perry’s roaring/ Queen B’s gone back to the drawing (board, presumably)/ Lorde smells blood yeah she’s about to slay you, the kid ain’t one to f*** with when she’s only on her debut/ We’re all watching GaGa, LOL and HA HA, dying for the arts so really she’s a martyr”. Yup, it’s terrible.

The track revolves around the theme that all these ladies are essentially competing to become ‘Sheezus’, Allen’s new messianic term for female pop singers. “Give me that crown bitch, I wanna be Sheezus”, she raps in the video, which features aesthetics that would seem more well at home with an M;I.A. track playing in the background.
