Brit Awards 2014 Nominee Brands the Awards Show “Boring”

What hope does the Brit Awards 2014 have of being exciting if even its own nominees don’t want to attend it?

19-year-old singer/songwriter Jake Bugg, who is nominated for the Best British Male Solo Artist award alongside the likes of David Bowie, has said that Brit Awards is “boring” and that he “doesn’t want to go”.

“I don’t really want to go but I might as well,” Bugg said. “I’ve got nothing else to do.”

The Brit Awards 2014 is a notoriously embarrassing yet alarmingly popular event in the world of British music, which masterfully avoids relevancy as though it’s the bubonic plague. The full line-up of Brit Awards 2014 nominees, which you can view here, reads like a who’s-who of have-nots, has-beens and please-stops, epitomised by One Direction’s awful ‘One Way or Another’ cover being nominated for… eurgh… Best British Single.

Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Disclosure, Rudimental, Katy Perry, Bastille, Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding and Bruno Mars are all confirmed to perform at the event. Hopefully Pharrell is wearing that lovely hat again.
