Phoenix Announce Headline Australian Shows

French alt rockers Phoenix have decided to use their time in Australia wisely; combining their participation in the Future Music Festival two addition headline shows for Aussie audiences.

Already co-headlining Future, the Versailles four-piece will play an additional two shows in Sydney and Melbourne in early March.

The synth-pop sound of this year’s Bankrupt! hit the ARIA album charts at No.5 (and No.1 on the American alternative, indie and rock album charts).

The band are apparently big fans of Down Under and promised in April that they would be making an Australian visit a priority.

“We’ve always enjoyed it a lot there,” guitarist Laurent Brancowitz told FasterLouder in the lead up to the Bankrupt! release.

“Also, we started this album there. We recorded the first piece of music in Byron Bay: percussion with Michael Askill. We’re working on it right now to make [the next tour] happen as soon as possible.”
