4 Player Co-Op to Grace Killzone: Shadow Fall Post-Launch

Guerrilla Games previously confirmed a co-op “horde” style mode for Killzone: Shadow Fall, but was uncertain about when it would become available. While it isn’t ready be ready for you to enjoy during PS4 launch week, it won’t be long before you and your friends battle to survive against endless swarms of enemies.

In response to a user question, Killzone: Shadow Fall game director Steven ter Heide posted on Twitter:

we will start work on 4 player co-op mode after we have shipped.

Killzone 3 was the first to incorporate co-op for the franchise, but was limited to the Story Mode and only 2-players. Killzone: Shadow Fall‘s co-op supports 4-players with the caveat of being online only. Unfortunately, it will also require a Season Pass which will run you $19.99. On the plus side members also includes some other benefits such as future maps for co-op and competitive multiplayer.

The PS4 already has a list of quality co-op games including Knack at release, and even a next-gen version of Diablo 3 coming next year. Competitive play has become popular with the advent of online gaming, but sometimes it’s more rewarding to enjoy completing objectives with friends.
