Rick Perry’s Mugshot Gives No Damns

You’ve probably already heard that Texas Gov. Rick Perry is facing something like 99 years in prison after being indicted on felony counts of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant after he carried out a threat to veto funding for state prosecutors investigating public corruption. If you haven’t heard,  Gov. Rick Perry is facing something like 99 years in prison after being indicted on felony counts of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant after he carried out a threat to veto funding for state prosecutors investigating public corruption. This is his mugshot. He took off his barista glasses long enough to fully get the point across that he’s a smug asshole with no fear of going to prison, because as we’ve learned, abuse of power is strictly for rich, white dudes and the police. Look, I’m no Perry fan, but threatening to do something that you’re well within your office’s right to do before you do it, doesn’t really sound like a crime to me. Even if the underlying reasons for doing it seem spiteful and politically motivated. Hence the intense swag in this mugshot.
