Bengals’ wide receiver Chris Henry is on life support after suffering severe head injuries when he fell out of the back of a truck in Charlotte, NC yesterday. KYPost reports:
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department says the accident happened just before noon Wednesday in the 1100 block of Oakdale Road. When officers arrived, they found Henry, 26, laying in the road, apparently suffering from life-threatening injuries. Medics transported him to the Carolinas Medical Center. His condition has not been released. Based on information gathered by police at the scene, a domestic situation began at a residence on Peachtree Road. According to police, his fiancée got into a pickup truck and drove away from the residence. As she was driving away, Henry jumped into the bed of the truck. Police say at some point when his fiancée was driving, Henry fell out of the back of the truck. Homicide Detectives with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating the incident.
During his four years in the NFL, Henry has been arrested five times and suspended ten games for violating the league’s personal conduct and substance abuse policies. If there’s a brightside, and there always is, it’s that giving yourself brain damage doesn’t appear to be illegal.
