Um, No

Stephen Gately, the gay(est) member of the boyband Boyzone, died last weekend in Spain of natural causes due to pulmonary oedema (read more here). Tomorrow, his body will be transported to Dublin for his funeral at Church of St Laurence O’Toole on Saturday and oh my God ewww! Ewww! Mirror reports:

Stephen Gately’s four Boyzone bandmates plan to stay in the church with his body overnight before his funeral. Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy will bed down in the chapel late tomorrow because Stephen “didn’t like to be alone”. A source said: “It proves how close they were. Those lads would do anything for Stephen and they know he would not want to be there on his own.” The boys’ gesture is unexpected. In Ireland the body is often taken to the church the night before a funeral but friends and family do not stay with it. An undertakers’ source said: “People do not stay overnight in churches. It just doesn’t happen. They don’t even stay the night in funeral homes. “But with young people like Stephen, maybe they’ve discussed their wishes with friends before and told them they would not like to be alone overnight.” Shane, 33, Mikey, 37, Keith, 35, and Ronan, 32 will fly to Majorca today by private jet to bring Stephen, 33, home. They will return to Dublin the next day when his coffin will be taken to a funeral home for a private family viewing. It will then be moved to St Laurence O’Toole Church in Dublin’s inner city, a few hundred yards from where the singer grew up, accompanied by the band.

He’s gonna be spending the night alone for a while, so I’m not understanding this whole thing. It seems kind of dangerous to me. Because if I know zombies, and I’d like to think I do, they have an insatiable thirst for brains that can’t be bargained with, or reasoned with. I mean, why take the chance? Who will survive?! And what will be left of them?!
