It’s been a busy weekend for the battle royale genre! PUBG is receiving a new update, as well as a mobile game(!), and a Call of Duty title is getting a battle royale “Survival” mode.

Read on for everything you need to know.

PUBG Mobile Game

What’s this about a mobile game, then? Well, it’s a mobile port of the PC experience that’s being brought to China. It’ll be published by Tencent who has described the mobile version as a “full fledged mobile port” which will allow “players jumping over to mobile … to take advantage of their play on PC and maintain a consistent experience.”

Other than the fact that it is in development, not much more is known about the PUBG mobile experience. Despite how powerful mobile phones have become, I think the mobile game will have to make some sacrifices. With that said, I’m excited to hear more!

Call of Duty “Survival” Mode

You might not have heard of Call of Duty: Online, as it’s a free-to-play game that is available only in China. Up until this week, it hasn’t attracted too much attention, but now we’ve learned that it’s getting a battle royale mode. It’s as close to PUBG as Call of Duty can get, with a deadly circle closing in, airdrops bringing rare loot, and weapons scattered about the map.

What’s cool, is that we’ve got some gameplay to show you, courtesy of Zhenya on YouTube:
