Drake’s New Album “More Life” Sets New First-Day Spotify Record

Drake’s most recent album, More Life, has had the most successful first day on Spotify, beating out British singer Ed Sheeran.

More Life came out on March 18th, and had a number of producers as well as guest vocalists, including Kanye West.

Three songs were released ahead of the album: “Fake Love,” “Sneakin,'” and “Two Birds, One Stone,” the first of which came out in October of last year.

In the first 24 hours after its release, it was streamed 89.9 million times on Apple Music, which broke another record for the most streams in a single day (Billboard).

Drake, a proud born-and-bred Toronto native, has said in the past that More Life is just a playlist and is a bookmark between two larger, more full-fledged albums (like Views, which came out last year). He has won three Grammy Awards as well as numerous Junos and BET Awards. In addition to music, Drake is an actor as well as a fashion designer (with his own clothing line), and he is the ambassador of the Toronto Raptors NBA team.
