First Look | Marvel’s ‘Nova’ # 3

Richard Ryder was Marvel’s first Nova to headline his own series. And Ryder was near the peak of his modern popularity when he was seemingly killed off for The Thanos Imperative. In his place, Sam Alexander stepped up as the new Nova, following in the footsteps of his missing father. And despite being a novice hero, Sam’s done well for himself. He warned the Earth about the return of the Phoenix Force and joined the Avengers before co-founding the new incarnation of the Champions.

Yes, life was pretty good for Sam…until Richard Ryder suddenly came back to life. Or perhaps he escaped from the Cancerverse. But now there are at least two Novas in the Marvel Universe, and they’re not quite sure what to do with each other. Together, they’ve traveled to Knowhere in hopes of finding some answers about Richard’s reappearance. But in CraveOnline’s first look at Nova # 3, both Novas are down as the bounty hunters Deaths Head and Titus prepare to capture their prey. Who can stop them? Only a very good boy! Is Cosmo, yes?

Here’s Marvel’s very brief description for Nova # 3. Jeff Loveless and Ramon Perez were the writers, with Perez pulling double duty as the artist. Ian Herring was the colorist for this issue, and the variant cover was by James Stokoe.

“Richard Rider…back from the dead?! But HOW?! And WHY?! And what does his return spell for Sam Alexander?”

Nova # 3 will be released on Wednesday, February 1 in comic stores everywhere.
