Canadian Ryan Gosling’s ‘La La Land’ Nominated For 7 Golden Globe Awards

The nominations for this year’s Golden Globes has been released, and Canadian Ryan Gosling’s latest project, La La Land opposite Emma Stone, is leading the way with seven nominations.

Both of the lead actors are nominated, and the film is also up for best picture, comedy or musical. La La Land also received nominations for directing, screenplay, score, and original song.

Other best picture nominations include Manchester by the Sea, Lion, Hell or High Water and Hacksaw Ridge. And, in addition to Gosling, there were a few additional Canadians who received nods, like Ryan Reynolds, a Vancouver native, who is nominated for best actor for his role in Deadpool. And Chris Williams, who hails from Kitchener, is one of four directors who is nominated for Disney’s recent Polynesian-inspired hit Moana, which is up for best animated film.

The Golden Globes will be held on January 8th and will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
