Two ETSU Basketball Players Knock Down Consecutive Half-Court Shots, Win Free Tuition

Johnson City, Tennessee. Home of East Tennessee State University. Enrollment: 15,250, including two of the most clutch ballers east of the Mississippi.

Both the men’s and women’s programs held their annual “Bluenanza” Monday night to get fans and students excited for their upcoming basketball seasons. The highlight of the event came during a half court shot competition.

ETSU students Garrett Pack and Jeremiah Pearson were selected to attempt to sink a half-court shot for free tuition. After they failed, ETSU athletic director Richard Sander offered one more attempt, this time telling the students to select an ETSU basketball player to shoot for them.

Devontavius Payne and T.J. Cromer got the call. Here’s the result.
