Actor Chris Pine probably didn’t know that he’d be fielding questions about Australian politicians while he was in the country but given the name similarities to Liberal MP Christopher Pyne it was inevitable.Â
Pine is in the country promoting Star Trek Beyond and he dropped into triple j where he delivered an unbelievably excellent vocal impression of Pyne which has us thinking he may, in fact, be the politician in disguise.
After hearing a soundbite of Pyne’s infamous “I’m a fixer” quote Pine fired off his own impressions and, well, it was faultless. In fact, it may be his greatest performance to date.
If there’s ever a tele-movie about Pyne then Pine would be a shoe-in, if he was up for it. Let’s face it though, it would be a bit of a step-down after starring in one of the world’s greatest movie franchises.Â
Anyway, if it never happens at least we’ll have this footage below to cherish forever.
