Euro 2016 | Stan Collymore Records Riots Between England, Wales and Russia Fans

Stan Collymore has filmed a riot that escalated between England, Wales and Russia fans on the streets of Lille, showing how the violence in the streets of France during the Euro 2016 tournament may not have ended just yet.

In the video, recorded via Periscope by the pundit and former footballer, England and Wales fans can be seen running through Lille, chanting “We’re England and Wales, fuck off Russia, we’re England and Wales!” Loud bangs can be heard in the distance, while a young man in a green hat is filmed smashing car windows that are parked along the street.

Later in the video the English and Welsh fans confront the Russian fans, who are greatly outnumbered, while French police begin throwing tear gas in order to disperse the crowds. A Russian fan is filmed being apprehended by the French police after throwing a bottle in the direction of the rival supporters.

England and Russia fans were previously warned by UEFA that their national teams would be banned from the tournament if their violent behaviour was to continue, and judging from these scenes, it seems that that they are trying to ensure that this will be the case. Hopefully these supporters will eventually learn how to behave themselves so the rest of us can carry on enjoying the football.
