Comic-Con 2015: Green Lantern Reboot Officially Titled ‘Green Lantern Corps.’

Fans of Hal Jordan are doing their best to deny the existence of the last Green Lantern film, a critically panned superhero flick directed by Martin Campbell and starring Ryan Reynolds. Warner Bros. announced a while back that they too were not fond of the audience response to Green Lantern, and will be restarting the character’s mythology with a film set for release on June 19th, 2020 (release date pending). As was announced in Hall H this morning, that film will be called Green Lantern Corps., an allusion to the corps of magical, jewelry-powered space cops to which the Green Lantern belongs. The title implies that we will be seeing more than just Hal Jordan, as the Corps includes literally hundreds of bizarre alient creatures and supporting characters who aid Hal in his quest to protect Earth from cosmic baddies.

There is no word yet as to whether or not any members of the Corps will appear in any of the planned Justice League feature films (all set for release before Green Lantern Corps.), but speculation is always fun. Of all the Green Lanters, which would you like to see first in a feature film? I vote for Guy Gardner. Or that big egg-shaped crystal thing with the mohawk.
