Does he look familiar? A lot of people seem to think so. The Internet went ablaze this week when side-by-side comparisons of this version of Satan and various photos of President Obama made the rounds. As the Internet is known to do, it sparked quite a bit of controversy as people began to assume that the similarities weren't exactly accidental.
Eventually, the accusations became so widespread that the History Channel and the people behind the film had to chime in to defend the film.
Christa Schoeman, the makeup artist who worked on Satan actor Mehdi Ouzanni, scoffed at the entire idea, "There was not an inch of thought about President Obama in my head at any time. I can guarantee that President Obama had nothing to do with it in any shape or form."
Mark Burnett, one of the film's executive producers and the man behind hit reality show, "Survivor" further defended the makeup and the actor wearing it, "The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics, including satanic characters long before Barack Obama was ever elected our president."
So, there you have it. We can all relax now. Let's all get back to posting videos of cats failing to jump from object to object.

If you don\'t think he looks like the President it\'s time for lasik surgery. They said \"There was not an inch of thought about President Obama in my head at any time. I can guarantee that President Obama had nothing to do with it in any shape or form.\" Look, the makeup artist, director, producer, film editors, and the airbrush guy, not one of them didn\'t catch the resemblance??? And also having him in the film as the Devil??? This is why I can\'t watch these series, they get so much wrong. Saul the king was a tall handsome man but the guy in the film is short and not so cute. David was ruddy in complexion and red haired. Jesus was not Aryan. As that eminent Bible scholar Redd Foxx once said, you don\'t walk around in Israel for 3 years without a hat and stay white. These guys know exactly what they are doing and they are not getting things wrong unintentionally, if only they had read the Bible first.

Maybe the person trying to make that comment is prejudice and thinks that all dark completiced men with a scowl on their face look the same. Or maybe is just somebody with way too much time on their hands looking for a way to stir stuff up. Either way get over it. No resemblence.

Mark and Roma should have, to be historically correct, had the actor who played Jesus play the Devil and the guy who looked like President Obama and dark skinned play Jesus, Jesus after all was jewish and lived in the deserts of Israel, everyone had dark skin and his hair was not straight and blown out, it would have been very curly if not wirey and a dark color...

The unfortunate part is, that it has totally shifted the focus of what the producers wanted the audience to take away from this miniseries, and placed it solely on the character of Satan..I was a stupid move on everyone\'s part...You are not going to tell me that this character just walked onto the set, withour prior approval of the producers..? !
