When one woman saw her friend suffering from short-term memory loss, instead of getting down she decided to help out with this humorous and informative note.
The pair shared their experience with a post on Reddit as well as how everything has worked out since the incident, which took place in May of 2011. In addition to this helpful letter, the friend of the patient also took a leave of absence from her job to help out around the house. This allowed the patient's husband to spend more time with her in the hospital.
While the patient still suffers from memory loss, she deals with her problem with a number of calendars and reminders. According to her friend, if you met her today, you'd think she was a totally normal girl who is just really forgetful.

Very Sweet! I was frustrated trying to communicate with my 94 year old Aunt Marion who was in the hospital during her last few days of life. She had an oxygen mask on, she could no longer tolerate her hearing aid, couldn't sit up of course, and looked at me helplessly as I spoke to her. Suddenly I realized she was still able to SEE! So I rushed to the nurses station, got some paper and a magic marker, wrote in very large printing what I wanted to say, and held it up to her line of vision. She could answer "yes" or "no" questions and know what the nurses needed to do next. She passed away the next day, but I felt comforted knowing she was able to understand me almost to the very end of her life. Good old paper and black magic marker made our last minutes together meaningful.

I also typed up a list of our neighbors as he\'s always asking names and what happened to this one or that one. We constantly go through the same conversations that we may have had earlier that day or even weeks prior. The Docs haven\'t given a definitive diagnoses for his memory loss or than the early stages of senile dementia or Alzheimers.
