Barnaby is currently suing the former Miss Buffalo in order to get back a $50,000 engagement ring and a Cadillac Escalade he gave her when they dated last year. The two apparently dated from January through September of 2012 and Barnaby proposed during the summer.
Well, what a difference a breakup makes. Now that the two are no longer together, Barnaby wants his possessions back. His ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Amber Lindke, however, thinks she has the right to keep the items since they were given to her as "gifts."
The case has yet to be decided, but odds are in favor of Barnaby thanks to a New York law that says it doesn't really matter why the engagement was called off, the person who purchased the ring is entitled to get it back.As a hockey player Barnaby was no stranger to game time altercations, but he made the news quite regularly off the ice as well. In 2011, he was arrested for harassing his estranged wife and then, later that year, he was taken in for driving while intoxicated. Barnaby had been driving his Porsche Cayenne - with only three wheels on it, mind you - at 3 a.m. on the Dana Marie Parkway in New York.
Harassing your ex-wife, driving while intoxicated, and suing your ex-girlfriend for the ring and SUV you gave her. Now that's what we call a hat trick.
