    Colin Farrell, Gene Simmons, Kendra Wilkinson: What do they have in common? All were involved in sex tape scandals. But they’re just the tip of the iceberg. Other celebrities who fell into the let’s-film-ourselves-doing-the-nasty include Jennifer Lopez, Chyna Doll, Vince Neil, Kid Rock, Scott Stapp, Tyson Beckford, and of course proof-of-humanity’s downfall, Kim Kardashian. Sex tapes among celebrities have almost become de riguer. What’s interesting is how unsexy they are; fantasy doesn’t come close to reality. Proves that some actors can’t act like porn stars.

    So what separates the infamous from the merely famous? Maybe it’s the star involved or the circumstances. Click ahead and check out 12 of the most infamous sex tape scandals.

    1. Rob Lowe

    The Original Gangsta, Rob Lowe set the standard for sex tape scandals. In 1988, when Lowe was 22, a tape leaked showing him having sex with a 16-year-old girl. He claimed he didn’t know she was underage, as they had met in a bar. The later half of the tape showed him with a model and (here’s one for the history books!) became the first commercially distributed celebrity sex tape ever.

    2. Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee

    With Pamela Anderson the Canadian blonde bombshell and Tommy Lee the Motley Crue drummer who’s had as much sex with groupies as Wilt Chamberlin, this tape should’ve been porno-rific. Alas, Pamela and Tommy go at it while off the coast of somewhere beautiful and when she swims in the ocean, her breasts are like floatation devices. The tape was made while on their honeymoon and leaked onto the Internet in 1998.

    Not to be outdone, Pamela appeared again (some lessons are never learned), this time taking Poison rocker Bret Michaels to bed. (To be fair, she was with Bret before Tommy). As with most of these tapes, alcohol infused the action. The tape leaked in 1998 and was later released in 2005 by Metro Studios.

    3. Dustin Diamond

    Dustin Diamond aka Screech from “Saved by the Bell” got action, which just proves that being famous actually does land a certain type of chick. He had sex with not one, but two women, and even gave one a Dirty Sanchez. It’s called “Saved by the Smell” and the 40-minute tape released in 2006 was an attempt to jumpstart his career. Unsurprisingly, it failed.

    4. Hulk Hogan

    The man famous for having 24-inch pythons got caught on tape with the ex-wife of his friend, radio personality Bubba the Lovesponge. Apparently, the tape was made six years ago, in 2006, while Hulk was still married, which may explain one of the reasons for his subsequent divorce. Those who have watched it say it’s the antithesis of sexy.

    5. Tom Sizemore

    In 2005, the once great actor known for films such as “Saving Private Ryan” and “Heat” made a film he’s probably not as proud of: an 8-hour sex tape. That’s right: 8 hours. That’s like a workday. Apparently, per his managers, Sizemore suffers from priapism, a condition that leaves him sexually insatiable.

    6. R. Kelly

    An R&B musician, R. Kelly gained notoriety in 2002 for urinating on a 14-year-old girl and memorializing it on video. He was arrested and charged with child pornography. Incredibly, he was found not guilty on all charges after the defense claimed R. Kelly’s image was digitally placed on the head of another man.

    7. Verne Troyer

    Best known for playing Mini Me in the “Austin Powers” film franchise, Verne inadvertently added another role to his resume: on-screen lover. In 2008, clips of a sex tape involving the 2’ 8” Verne and his 5’ 6” then-girlfriend Ranae Shrider leaked ... and Shrider was the leaker. Verne attempted to block its release, and while he was successful in the U.S., he couldn’t stop its release overseas.

    8. Nadya "Octomom" Suleman

    Some stories just get worse. Nadya “Octomom” Sulemen is famous for giving birth to 8 babies and became the freak-of-the-week on the news. Fair enough. But she took it a step further and wanted to be like Kim Kardashian, so in 2012 she made a masturbation tape for Wicked Pictures entitled “Octomom: Home Alone.”

    9. Paris Hilton & Rick Salomon

    Paris is the genesis of getting famous for releasing a sex tape. Look at her career. There is Before Sex Tape, i.e., nothing; and then, her career After Sex Tape. Made when she was 19 years old with then-30-year-old Rick Salomon, “One Night in Paris” was released in 2004 from a night in 2001.

    It was filmed using a tripod and night vision, meaning everything is grainy and green-eyed. Hilton said in 2006, “I never received a dime from the video. It’s just dirty money and (Salomon) should give it all to some charity for the sexually abused or something.”

    10. Tonya Harding

    What a fall from grace. An American figure skating champion, a two-time Olympian, and yet she is most famous for plotting an attack on her fellow competitor Nancy Kerrigan. She continued her downward spiral with a sex tape. Released in 1994, she engaged in drunken sex with her then-husband Jeff Gillooly. It was so popular that the couple released it legitimately on their own. Though called “The Wedding Night” tape, the wedding gown she wears is really a Halloween costume.

    11. Montana Fishburne

    Montana Fishburne should be known as the daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne. Instead, she became famous for her role in the porn industry. Under the name Chippy D., in 2010 she released a gonzo porn titled “Phattys Rhymes & Dimes 14.” Laurence even tried to block the distribution of the film, but was unsuccessful. When asked why she made the tape, she said, “I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became …” Oh, just kill me now. This is what people aspire to?

    12. Dustin Lance Black

    Just to prove that sex tape scandals aren’t limited just to straight couples, writer and winner of the Academy Award for “Milk,” Dustin Lance Black had his own sex tape released showing him having unprotected sex with another man. Leaked in 2009 (though recorded via timestamp in 2006), he later apologized: “More important than the embarrassment of this incident is the misleading message these images send. I apologize and cannot emphasize enough the importance of responsible sexual practices.”
